159. Main gate
The walk of Jiro this morning was at a nearby castle ruins.
There, the old castle buildings do not exist any more.
Only their photos taken in the early years of Meiji are available.
To begin with, it would be very nice to rebuild this main gate, or the 1st gate in front of the inner ecnlosure.
However I have never heard of such plan for more than 30 years.

158. An owl
On my bicyling ride from a library, a figure something unusual looked standing in front of a pet shop .
After somewhat passing the shop, I retruned and found an owl just after his (or her?) bathing.
Upon the shop owner's OK, I took several shots.
Ummm. Defiant look indeed.
Though I had experience to take care finches and doves, this one must be far more hard for me to do anything.

157. Sally forth this year too
On the way to my usual cycling road, there is a rice plant paddy field where the so-called duck farming is applied.
Today I happened to encounter the scene the duck chiks of this year are first released into the paddy.
As in the picture, they swim inside the field encirled by electric fences in a group crying, gua, gua.
It is said that in the night, raccoon dogs, foxes, or the likes, come to the paddy and the electric fence is a must,
and that during the chick period, even in the day time, it is necessay to watch the field as crows try to hunt them.

156. "Suzuran"
Flowers of "suzuran" (lily of the valley) have gone long before. Now there appear stuff look like their fruits, which are lovely in that they wear something like baby bibs.
Checking of the website indicates that these seeds sprout, and that it takes 4 years for them to have flowers.
In addition it says that every part of the plant is highly poisonous, and due care shall be taken.

155. Cactus
A cactus at my place bloomed.
The flowers are too large compared to the main body. A much larger cuctus next to this one gives much smaller and pretty flowers. The imbalance is amusing.

154. Wheat
Brown belt appears amongst green fields with rice plant seedlings. That's wheat.
Wheat field is seldom seen these days. It's a time for havesting wheat.

153. "Sakuranbo" (cherry)
A cherry found at a park nearby.
The tree is of ubiquitous "Somei-yoshino" type, and said to give its fruits only when there exist other types of cherry trees at close places.

152. Spa drilling
A drilling work up to 1,500 m deep is going on at a nearby place.

Measures to prevent gas explosion are applied to the work, because the area from Tokyo to Kujyuku-ri-hama is on a gas field as in the right clip.

Visited annual pottery market held at Masiko.
